The Future

The future i believe is something we all want to know
as to what or how things will be. The following are some of the films that have really captured my eyes when it comes to the future.

Vernor vinge had a great passion for cyberspace according to mindtalk (2010) vernor talks about singularity which is about how people themselves can become like a computer. the following is what he stated.

"The acceleration of technological progress has been the central feature of this century. I argue in this paper that we are on the edge of change comparable to the rise of human life on Earth. The precise cause of this change is the imminent creation by technology of entities with greater than human intelligence. There are several means by which science may achieve this breakthrough (and this is another reason for having confidence that the event will occur"

furthermore he quoted some of the following points.
  • There may be developed computers that are "awake" and superhumanly intelligent. (To date, there has been much controversy as to whether we can create human equivalence in a machine. But if the answer is "yes, we can", then there is little doubt that beings more intelligent can be constructed shortly thereafter.)
  • Large computer networks (and their associated users) may "wake up" as a superhumanly intelligent entity.
  • Computer/human interfaces may become so intimate that users may reasonably be considered superhumanly intelligent.
  • Biological science may provide means to improve natural human intellect

the book of William Gibsons Neuroamcer is very interesting as it is a plot about a man who is a computer hacker.

in many recent news there is been a lot of talk about nana technology and artificial ingtelligence therefore i found very interesting news about each and below you will see there is a description and some videos to give you a clear idea about each.

nano technology:  Public health (2010) stated "1.1 Nanotechnology is the science of designing, producing, and using structures and devices having one or more dimensions of about 100 millionth of a millimetre (100 nanometres) or less.Nanotechnology has the potential to significantly impact society. It is already used for instance by the information and communications sectors. It is also used in cosmetics and sunscreens, in textiles, in coatings, in some food and energy technologies, as well as in some medical products and medicines. Moreover, nanotechnology could also be used in reducing environmental pollution".

Dr. Michio Kaku is an expert in the field of nano technology and below you can look at video of him explaining nano technology which was aired in bbc.

Artificial Intelligence: there has been a lot of talk for the past decade machines can have the ability to think like human. one great example is the movie artificial intelligence below is the trailer for the movie, if you find the time i fully recommend that you watch it .
